This website adds to my other unrefined series of creations scattered across the web[^2]. Currently, I'm a startup founder at **Aithena**[^1] - a London-based company developing AI-powered SaaS for the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry. We're essentially teaching computers to understand compliance. Though I don't practice clinically at the moment, I'm a pharmacist by background with an independent prescribing qualification in heart failure. I also hold a PhD in pharmacy practice, having conducted research on pharmaceutical public health - specifically syndromic surveillance and medicines policy. I left the NHS just before COVID-19 hit, back when I was leading a team of talented pharmacists and techs in acute medicine at a large London hospital. Before that, I worked in NHS commissioning, helping implement high-cost drug policies across several hospitals in the East Midlands - a role that taught me the fine art of making expensive things appear slightly less expensive. My last job before founding Aithena was in the pharmaceutical industry, with a brief stint in medical affairs but mostly in what I call "general purpose" market access consulting, where I applied 'making expensive things appear slightly less expensive' skills once again. I like learning new things, being around inspiring people, and exploring my limitations as a human being - though I've discovered quite a few already.
